Having joined Cambridge Assessment during the first few months of the Covid pandemic, Chris Spratt rose to the significant and unique challenges resulting from the virus. His extensive experience and expertise allowed him to quickly assess all the requirements of the company's UK estate and ensure his colleagues continued to receive the highest level of support.
Following the merger with Cambridge University in 2021, Chris is now enjoying his role as director of international property and services. Further to the above, he has been an adult volunteer with the Cadet Force since 1988 and is an established judge for the PFM Awards.

David Hemming
NHS Service Delivery Lead
David recently joined the NHS Shared Business Service as the Service Delivery Lead - Major Programmes within their consulting arm. He is a chartered Civil Engineer, with 30years experience working in the construction and property sectors around the world. The majority of his career he has been with the public sector working in Defence, Higher Education, Central Government, and Health. Many of which are highly regulated and driven by both statutory and mandatory compliance.
He started his career in the Army serving with the Royal Engineers for over 20years and he has been the Director of Estates and Facilities for a number of high profile institutions, delivering a high number of major projects and programmes. He holds Fellowships in both the Institution of Civil Engineers and the Institute of Workplace and Facilities Management. He always looks to act as an ambassador to these two professions and help shape the future of the built environment industry. He sits on a number of national and international committees and advisory groups, dealing with standards, compliance, procurement and sustainability. He has written a number of technical guides and standards in the areas of Facilities Management and published papers, articles and book chapters on the subject of Indoor Environmental Quality, health and wellbeing.

David Hewins is the Head of Facilities for Allianz Stadium, the Home of Rugby. Starting his career as a Captain in the Corps of Royal Engineers he moved into the construction and facilities management industries for companies such as Bechtel, G4S, Cyril Sweet and VINCI. This has seen him manage contracts across a broad range of facilities including schools, hospitals, government and defence manufacturing. Most recently he opened London Stadium with VINCI Facilities and then went client side responsible for the Rugby Football Union’s estate where he has won several awards for Sustainability through the use of building system optimisation.

Mark served as a Warfare Officer in the Royal Navy from 1992 – 2001. During his Naval Career Mark served in a number of ship appointments on aircraft carriers, frigates and minehunters and saw active operations in the Adriatic and Sierra Leone. After leaving the Royal Navy Mark joined the facilities management industry where he worked in a number of different environments providing facilities management and property operations across traditional contracts and PFIs in both the public and private sectors. During his time in Facilities Management Mark has had a varied career and held a number of different positions including working in operations for several service providers (both large and small providers) and also within business development. Mark has also worked in a client side leadership role (to prove the concept that it is possible to move between service provider and client side roles!).
Since leaving the military Mark has been passionate about supporting the armed forces family including assisting veterans and military partners into work as well as supporting military charities such as Combat Stress. He firmly believes that FM is a great career for veterans and wants to make the FM market more accessible to veterans.
